Sunday Salon - January 13
This is a very mini post this week, as things are busy here, and I am functioning on very little sleep. Maya slept wonderfully last night, however I had insomnia and couldn't go back to sleep after her 2am feeding.
I am almost finished reading K is for Killer from Sue Grafton's Alphabet Series. I always like to escape with Kinsey Millhone and these fun, light books, but this one isn't holding my attention as well as the others. I hopefully will finish it tonight after Maya goes to sleep, as I only have 30 pages left. Next up I plan on reading Living A Jewish Life by Anita Diamant.
Of course, I have added to my TBR pile this week after reading some reviews by other bloggers. Here is what caught my eye:

- Bury Me Standing: The Gypsies and their Journeys by Isabel Fonseca. Mentioned at A Striped Armchair.
- Persian Girls by Nahid Rachlin. Reviewd at SMS Book Reviews.
- Midwives by Chris Bohjalian. Included in the Best of 2007 by SMS Book Reviews.
- Paris Cafe: The Select Crowd. by Noel Riley Fitch. Mentioned at Kate's Book Blog.

I really enjoy Grafton's novels. I am hoping to make time to read T is for Trespass one of these days.
I am glad I am not the only one who added to her TBR pile this week. I've had Midwives in my shelf forever. I really need to make time for it.
I hope you have a good week!
I hate having insomnia. Hope you get a good night's sleep tonight.
Hope you finish the Grafton book!
I'm sorry you weren't able to sleep the other night. I hope you made up for it last night.
I haven't read the Sue Grafton novels but I've seen them in the store and they look entertaining. Maybe I'll pick up one or two to keep on hand for those times when I just can't settle on anything from my bookshelf.
I hope you get a good night tonight; there is nothing so debilitating as lack of sleep. You have my very sincerely sympathies.
wendy - So do I, this one just seems to be a bit weaker than her others. Or, I might just be more distracted at the moment!
iliana - Do you suffer from insomnia as well? It only started for me about 2 years ago, and up until I was pregnant it didn't happen that often. I just have a really hard time falling back asleep if I am woken between 1-4am. That might not be true insomnia, I'm not sure. But it makes life a bit difficult at the moment, since my body is now programmed to wake up during that time to make sure Maya wakes up to eat.
erin - I did manage a nap yesterday while Maya was asleep, which helped a lot. Grafton novels are good books to pick up when you want a quick, entertaining read. I am slowly working through the series, reading about one each month.
table talk - Thanks! I am feeling much better this morning, although with a 6-week old I certainly won't be getting a full night of uninterrupted sleep for quite a while. :)
