Dappled Apples - Jan Carr

Title: Dappled Apples
Author: Jan Carr
Illustrator: Dorothy Donohue
Year: 2007
Rating: 3.5 out of 5

Dappled Apples is a whimsical romp through an apple orchard and pumpkin patch. I checked this book out of the library before we went apple picking, and it fit that context beautifully. It has simple, rhyming text, and the illustrations are vibrant and really stand out.

I can't say it's one of my favorite picture books, but I will probably keep it on my list of books to get from the library each autumn.

We just took one of my girls apple-picking, as well! While I like apples, the real attraction is the homemade cider doughnuts. Delicious.

I have a couple wonderful picture books for your "seasonal" collection, including a great one for summer: "A Day with My Dad at the Beach." These are great books depicting the daddy-daughter relationship and how important it is for dads to get out their and spend time with their kids.

Books are such powerful tools. We love them so. Thank you for all the stories you've posted about. I wanted to share a book that our family just loves to read again and again. "Bedtime for Meaghan" by Celi Camacho, is a sweet and tender bedtime story. Hope you will enjoy it as much as we do.
